The Nutcracker!

For a special Christmas/Birthday gift, we treated Ellie to her first Nutcracker ballet along with Grandma and Ti-ti (Brett's mom and sister). It was also my (Meghan) first one too. It was a special in another way because Brett's Mom went as a child, and then took Ti-ti when she was old enough, and now she was able to go with her granddaughter as well.

Ellie of course was thrilled. The dancing, the music, the story- so enchanting and wonderful. Like a dream! The dancers were amazing to watch. Ellie's favorite was "The pink princess, and the purple princess, and the princesses with flowers on their dresses." She did not like the mice. "The mice were not nice. They were not obeying God. They took her nutcracker and wouldn't give it back."

Flowers and weddings.

My younger brother got married shortly before Christmas. We had a fun time with family. We rented a condo for us all to stay at, so we could make the most out of the short time we all had together. My kids were so thrilled to hang out with some of their cousins. Miss E was the flower girl and she was pumped. From the fluffy dress, to the flowers, to the fancy hair-do with the ladies: she was in heaven.

Unfortunately, the front row isn't always the best seat in the house, and I wasn't able to take any pictures of the wedding itself. But, it was lovely and so was Nathaniel and Sarah.

Creations

The boys have fallen in love with Legos. And I love their creative builds. This is a football game built by Kieran.

Last Giving Thanks post.

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say Rejoice!

So, the reason I haven't posted in so long isn't entirely my fault, as my Thanksgivings will show.

#22 A surgeon who doesn't take call anymore offered to take Thanksgiving for Brett! So, we were able to spend Thanksgiving with his family and some friends. We had a great time of fun and food. The boys got to shoot rockets with Brett and his dad.

#23 Day after Thanksgiving....COUSINS!!!

#24 The wonder of childhood.....

the thrill of fall....

...and the chubby cheeks of my cutest (and only) nephew.

#25 Family, and how even after time passes we can pick up where we left off.

#26 Woodland Walks

#27 November birthdays! Besides Kieran, Brett's sister, my mom, and my awesome niece Ali (who is learning the cello!) all have November birthdays. I love them all.

#28 Coming Home.... to Brett and a new rice cooker! Now how's that for one awesome man? My rice cooker has been on the fritz. While I was gone, he looked for a new one and bought it for me. This family could not survive without a rice cooker!

#29 The privilege of our kids being part of telling the story of the birth of Jesus, God with us: the One who came to rescue us from sin and eternal death, who came to give us freedom, and eternal life!

#30 A song that is special to me and Liam. It's so wonderful to praise God with my children. This is Liam's favorite song. He loves to sing it. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of my wonderful Side By Side Bible study group back in Rochester.

Psalm 9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High!

Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him, let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
