A visitor

One of the, uh, "perks" of living in the country, haha.
The girls have enjoyed having the cat around. Especially Sarena.

New books for K

A couple of weeks ago, Kieran got an exciting package in the mail. One he has been begging me to get and waiting on for weeks. He was thrilled to finally get it!

Kieran enjoys language and figuring things out. Unfortunately, I'm the only one who can help him because Daddy says, "It's all Greek to me."

Hopefully this will be good prep for learning a new language with a new alphabet and sounds when we move to SouthEast Asia. If not, hey, at least he's enjoying himself.

Time for a new wardrobe....

So, this is a post I've been meaning to write for the last month or so. However, between multiple trips we've been taking to fundraise and prepare to move to Southeast Asia and the fact that I just haven't taken a whole lot of pictures lately (I know, bad momma.), it just hasn't made it on here.

So, here goes....

I'm not a shopper. As a matter of fact, I would rather go to a grocery store with all kinds of wonderful and exotic foods and lose myself in there for hours (Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati area was AWESOME!) before I'd go buy clothes, shoes, purses, and all kinds of other odds and ends. So, a wardrobe update is definitely overdue. However, God must have a sense of humor because the clothes I need now are not the ones I was planning to buy.

And because I got rid of almost all our baby things (bad idea), I'm not the only one who needs a new wardrobe.

Since our last two have been girls, I guess he would need new clothes anyway.

The older kids are absolutely thrilled about a baby brother. They picked out the sleepers and my Aunt made this beautiful blanket. Little Boy Blue is due November 16th. Kieran is sincerely hoping he comes early on his birthday. (Though he may think differently in a few years.)

Cousin fun

My older brother and his family came to visit right before Memorial Day weekend. We loved every minute! It's so good to see my brother home and with his family after his long deployment. Here are a few pictures of our weekend.

Waiting for the cousins.

Picking our wonderful smelling roses.

Hiking to the lake through the woods behind our house.

Looks like beavers are around.

It's been a while

So, I realize I haven't posted anything on the blog in 2 months. The last couple months haven't been uneventful, but I guess I haven't been able to write anything. Call it writer's block I guess.

The kids finished up soccer, swimming, Awana, and school so now we find ourselves with much more free time, especially our evenings. I'm considering letting the boys do a Lego summer camp, but not for sure just yet. Liam is a Lego fanatic, and I know he would love it. Speaking of Liam, he will turn 6 this Saturday! Where has the time gone?

A beautiful February day.

I know this is almost a month old, but in February we actually had some gorgeous 60 degree days. Brett had a free afternoon and we took him to a park in town. The kids had a blast running through the castle, crawling through the tunnels, and slaying the dragon.
